Let it Go | with a Smile

There is nothing quite like laughter to ease a burden. It doesn’t change our circumstances, but, it does help us to regain our equilibrium, our perspective, our balance. Laughter is a safety valve for the psyche under pressure. Here is a great article from Psychology Today about the many benefits of laughter, both physical and mental: Laughter: The Best Medicine

I have a friend who many days right now sends me jokes, often poking fun at the Coronavirus. I’m in extreme lock down where I am; she is lesser so. She knows how important freedom is to me, and the jokes help relieve my feeling of restriction. I am truly indebted to her for this kindness shown.

Humor is one of the tools we can use to navigate this new territory in which we find ourselves. Perhaps we can pledge to help each other through it with a little daily dose of humor? Our days, after all, are too precious to live them without some joy and laughter.

“There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor.” ~ Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol

“A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.” ~ Steve Martin
